I stumbled upon a user called Aci6 who posted his interpretation of the NG voting hierarchy for any distraught or confused artist that feels they were hard done by or perhaps the opposite. I thought this was a great explanation of the system and so I thought id re-post it just as an indication of my perceptions. For me - 10 means perfect, and nothing as far as i am concerned is perfect - so in future i think i will stick to this guide a little more meticulously. This is what Aci6 said:

10 - Nothing wrong with it at all, a perfect example of what flash should be like; something you can watch again and again.

9 - Superb, hardly a thing wrong with it at all.

8 - A highly watchable flash with skills and ideas working together.

7 - Watchable, a good example of a solid flash with some ideas and decent animation skills. Recommended.

6 - Above average, not recommended on the most part but enjoyable enough.

5 - Average, shows ideas and skills that are a little vague or not that great.

4 - Potential but falls short with ideas and/or skills.

3 - Poor, not that good with effort shown but not full exploited.

2 - Shows a lack of direction, ideas or skill with hardly any potential at all.

1 - Extremely poor with no effort shown, no ideas, no direction and is painful to watch.

0 - Not worth the time to watch, highly not recommended with no effort or anything shown in it.
